WHEN FASHION MEETS HISTORY

Since I studied History in high school, I've always find inspiration in history. Legendary queens known for their anearthly beauty. All of them contributed on their own way for their nations.

LIVIA DRUSILLA / ЛИВИЯ ДРУЗИЛА

Livia was emperor Augustus' wife. Octavian fell immediately in love with her and made her first husband (Tiberius Claudius Nero) divorce her. Also, he divorced his wife - Scribonia. Augustus and Livia were married for 51 years. She always enjoyed the status of privileged counselor to her husband, petitioning him on the behalf of others and influencing his policies, an unusual role for a Roman wife in a culture dominated by the pater familias. When they returned to Rome (after Mark Antony's suicide) they were a role model of a Roman family. Livia would set the pattern for the noble Roman matrona. She wore neither excessive jewelry nor pretentious costumes, she took care of the household and her husband (often making his clothes herself), always faithful and dedicated. In 35 BC Octavian gave Livia the unprecedented honour of ruling her own finances and dedicated a public statue to her.

IRINA KOMNINA / ИРИНА КОМНИНА

When Irina was still a kid, she was captured from the Bulgarians after Tsar Ivan Asen II, won the battle near Klokotnitsa. The Tsar was amazed by her beauty. The patriarch from Turnovo didn't bless their marriage, so Ivan Asen condemned him to death. Afterwards, the church didn't recognized her title as a queen. After the death oh her husband and later of her son, she became a nun. And later, she was dispeled form Bulgaria.

NEFERTITI / НЕФЕРТИТИ

Nefertiti was an Egyptian queen and the Great Royal Wife  of Akhenaten, an Egyptian Pharaoh. Nefertiti and her husband were known for a religious revolution, in which they worshiped one god only, Aten, or the sun disc. With her husband, she reigned at what was arguably the wealthiest period of Ancient Egyptian history.Nefertiti had many titles including Hereditary Princess; Great of Praises; Lady of Grace, Sweet of Love; Lady of The Two Lands; Main King's Wife, his beloved; Great King's Wife, his beloved, Lady of all Women; and Mistress of Upper and Lower Egypt. Her name means “the beauty has come” in Egyptian. Many things about her life and death are a mystery, but the on thing that is not is that she and Akhenaten change Egypt forever.

Nefertiti is my favourite queen since I was a little girl. Her story is very interesting to me and I'm always trying to learn more about her.
